Welcome to the Ontario
Peer Helpers' Association Home Page (O.P.H.A.). OPHA is a non-profit
corporation with a Board of Directors consisting of active and retired
teachers. Our current membership consists of 200 schools across Ontario, Canada.
There are approximately 3 000 peer helpers from Grade 5 to post secondary in
our organization. OPHA provides a structure and network for the many leadership
& peer helping programs found in Ontario.
The organization has a strong affiliation with the Ontario School
Counselors' Association (OSCA) and
the Ontario
Education Leadership Centre (OELC).
The Ontario
Peer Helpers' Association provides provincial conferences and regional
workshops on such topics as leadership, peer mediation, anti-bullying, peer
helper training, valuing diversity, motivation, restorative practice. In
addition OPHA networks through newsletters, emails, and its calendar. OPHA
products and manuals are available to assist schools in their peer helping
programs.
